There is something amazing about being in a museum being surrounded by culture, history, and gorgeous works of art. I love how it is quiet and everyone walks with a look of awe and wonder in their eyes. It's even better when your arm is wrapped in your hubbys and you get to enjoy it together. The outside of the building was amazing and I knew were in for a treat.
Everything was displayed so beautifully and you felt like you had stepped back in time to that time and place. The Roman Era.
The African room
The Reniassance Era - Ry and I's favorite. I loved all the pictures of Christ depicted in such unique and beautiful ways.
Then I would come upon paintings like this and wish I had lived then and I wish I was an artist too.
Ry had mentioned in the museum how he loved pictures that were mostly sky. As I waited on the front steps of the museum for him to come pick me up I noticed that across the street I had the most beautiful view of the sky.
Then we drove down 5th Avenue and I loved seeing all the famous stores like Gucci
Prada
Trump Towers
Love New York City streets.
And down to Time Square where we saw the big ball freshly dropped and the year had changed to 2012. I can't even imagine how crazy this place was just a week ago. This picture is for you Shaunie - that is the Olive Garden you and I ate at. Every time I see it I think of you.
Then we made it to Lincoln Tunnel. And I got a great shot of the city as we came out.
It may go down in history as one of my favorite birthday/date ever!!!
